Easy Fall Applique and Envelope Pillow Cover

Today I'm going to share with you a quick & easy Fall pillow I made. I appliqued the "Fall" letters onto the front of envelope style pillow cover that I made from an old curtain that we had.

This project was fun & economical for all sorts of reasons. By using an old curtain I was able to save money on the cost of the fabric and I have plenty of the curtain fabric left over to make a few more matching ones. Making an envelope style pillow cover that slides on and off of the pillow form allows me to change out the pillow whenever I want, and it's easy to make!

By adding just a few elements, like these beautiful handmade buttons from Button Mad, adds just enough texture and dimension to your pillows without much cost. And hand sewing a few buttons on is pretty easy too!

A Feathered Turkey Sign - Gobble 'til You Wobble

It's not to early to start thinking Thanksgiving is it? I mean it does kind of seem to sneak up every year, getting lost somewhere in between Halloween and Christmas. At least it seems to happen that way to me.

Well, today I have a tutorial for a "Gobble 'til you Wobble" Turkey sign and it is fun, bright & Full of feathers!  And can I tell you I just LOVE how it turned out!

So why a turkey sign and Thanksgiving decor alreay? Remember awhile back I participated in the Totally Tutorial Blog Supplier Exchange Program?  Well, I've been selected to participate again and this time I got to use feathers! The store Abakhan, (a fabric, hobby & home store) selected me to come up with something fun with these bright, beautiful feathers.

I'm not sure if you've ever worked with feathers before but if you haven't you should, they really are a lot of fun! The package I received consisted of a mix of marabou & patterned guinea feathers. The colors were bright green (kind of lime), orange, and a turquoise blue. They shipped great and I got them in plenty of time, even with there being a holiday included in the shipping time! 

So with all the fall decorating I've been doing I wanted to use the feathers in some sort of fall decor and then I thought why not get a head start on my Thanksgiving decorating. So that's what I did! I found the "Gobble 'til you Wobble" quote and knew I totally wanted to include it, so off to my craft room I went to make my sign. This tutorial has a lot of steps and a lot of pictures, don't worry, it's not difficult I'm just trying to be thorough since there are a couple of different elements to it. 

A Simple Fall Book Page Banner

Today I'm going to tell you how to make the quick & easy book page banner that I made for my Fall Mantel this year. Would you believe I didn't even you my hot glue gun??? Yep, I sure didn't and it is a very temporary banner that can easily be changed out and reused or taken down. Whatever suits your fancy!

This is also a little different than my normal tutorial, mainly because as I got started I totally changed my original idea and just kind of came up with it as I went and so I didn't get a bunch of pictures along the way.  Most of it is pretty self explanatory though.  So on to the tutorial...

Welcome Fall Mini-Banner Tutorial

Today I'm going to show you the last little bit I added to the fall decor in my entryway. I found these super cute scarecrows in the $1 spot at Target and just knew immediately what I was going to do with them. So I brought them home, put them in a basket, and added some kraft paper raffia. They were cute, but I decided they really did need a little bit more and since they are on my entryway table I thought why not  a "Welcome Fall" banner? 

Cute right?!?! Well, today I'm going to show you how to make this quick miniature kraft banner. It's really a quick tutorial and you don't need any special supplies. If you can use a pair of scissors, a paint brush or marker, and a hot glue gun then you are all set!

Mason Jar Candy Corn Holder Tutorial

Since my little guys birthday is now over & done, I've been able to put back the fall decorations and start working on a few new little things to add to the Fall Decor in my entryway. I wanted to add a little bit more, but not to much since my entryway table is kind of small but just enough to make it a little more festive & fun. 

One of the things new this year is my Mason Jar candy corn holder. I love mason jars, and growing up living in the country and having a 1/4-1/2 acre garden most of my childhood, mason jars were always around for canning purposes.  So crafting with them and using them as part of my decor brings back many, many memories of my childhood. And if you are on Pinterest or follow many blogs at all then you know you see all sorts of crafts made with mason jars, so this is definitely not something new,  just something new to my table decor. :-)

Fabric Flower Tutorial

I wanted to share with you all how I made the fabric rosette for the Chevron Card I did for Mother's Day. The technique that I do in this tutorial is the same one that I used for some fabric lollipops that I made for my sister's graduation open house. (Be sure to watch for those posts. I CANNOT wait to share all the fun things we came up with!!!)

Christmas Tutorial: Semi-Homemade Christmas Card & A Giveaway

Today I'm going to show you how to make a "Semi-Homemade"  Christmas Card. If you are like me, you like to make homemade things or maybe you would like to try to make something homemade, but you just don't think you are all that "crafty." Well, this is a quick, cute way for anyone to dress up a boxed set of Christmas cards to give it that homemade touch!

Supplies:
Set of boxed of Christmas Cards: I got mine from the Dollar Bins at Target
*Embellishments: I used a variety of rhinestones with different colors and sizes
*Ribbon
Stamps and Ink
Scissors
Liquid Adhesive
*Decide how you would like to embellish your cards. I think these snowmen cards are cute as is, but I think they needed a little bit more so I decided to add rhinestones and ribbon.

Cut out how many ribbons you will need. I needed eight ribbon to add to the snowman for his bow-tie. They are pretty small, but they are just enough.

Once the ribbons are made, you will need to attach them. I used my liquid adhesive, but you could also use a hot glue gun. Just be careful when working with small ribbon that you don't burn yourself, I know I always do!

I then added a rhinestone to the center of each snowflake. The rhinestones I have already have an adhesive, but because the cards are going to be handled a lot I like to add adhesive to them just to make sure they stay on.

I decided I wanted to dress up the envelopes a bit too. So I used a small square snowman stamp and my red ink pad and stamped the image in the lower left corner.

There you have it! Quick, easy, and cute!
